FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Certification

The FAA is the agency of the US Department of Transportation responsible for the regulation and oversight of civil aviation. Its primary objective is to ensure the safety of civil aviation.

In our commitment to better serve you, our operational control standards strictly comply with the FAA regulatory requirements.

The Federal Aviation Administration heavily regulates general aviation through Part 91 and Part 135 operations. Part 91 applies to non-commercial operations, and the regulations listed in Part 135 apply to commercial operations.

We believe in the top level of safety. We won’t settle for anything less, from having the best safety and risk management systems to strict pilot training procedures and more. Private Jet Tampa takes every measure to ensure your safety and everyone onboard our private jets.

Pilot And Crew Flight Requirements

The primary drivers of a safe and successful charter journey include pilot and crew flight experience and the total number of hours of a particular make or model of an aircraft. On the other hand, the ATP rating is the highest FAA rating that a pilot can earn. This requires that a pilot should have a minimum of 1,500 hours of flight experience.

In line with this, it is acceptable to pair newer crew members to build up the total number of hours with more experienced pilots, for as long as the left seat or the lead pilot has sufficient flight experience.

Part 135 Certification

This certification means that your operator has done all the necessary paperwork and cleared all FAA inspections to become a public charter operator. This grants authority to private air charters to operate on unscheduled, on-demand air service.

Services included under this certification are the transport of critical passengers and cargo service to remote areas, thereby providing support to populations that would not otherwise exist.

This certification also requires air charters to work closely with the FAA Office of Hazardous Materials Safety to develop, maintain, and implement approved hazardous materials.

Part 91 Certification

This is a certification issued by the FAA authorizing private pilots to carry dangerous good for personal use aboard their aircraft without being regulated, given that they’re not transporting it for commercial purposes.

Thus, under this certification, aircraft operators are only permitted to conduct flights for non-commercial purposes. Under FAA regulation, part 91 certification include safe weather requirements, required landing distances, and pilot eligibility and training.

Other services contained in this certification are aircraft maintenance and repair, hazardous materials recognition training for personnel, and scheduling of flight.
